Michelle Dawson has over 10 years of experience, working in both the corporate and third sector, supporting large scale community regeneration projects in the UK. In January 2015, Michelle was recruited by the developers of Battersea Power Station to lead the direction, strategy and programming of the Battersea Academy of Skills and Excellence (BASE). The academy will focus on supporting 17,000 long term jobs that will be created through the regeneration of the iconic Battersea Power Station.
Prior to joining Battersea Power Station, Michelle was Deputy Chief Executive at the East London Business Alliance (ELBA). During her time at ELBA, Michelle led the Community and Education programmes that brokered the corporate involvement of businesses in Canary Wharf and City of London into community organisations, education and employment across east London boroughs. Michelle has also managed Hammerson’s community regeneration strategies across their large retail centres including Highcross in Leicester, Cabot Circus in Bristol and Union Square in Aberdeen. As part of her work at Hammerson, Michelle led award winning public/private partnerships which supported over 5,000 people into work.
