Deputy Director Operations
Danny has worked within the Rail Industry since 1975. He studied Business management at the University of East Anglia. Over the years he has worked in a variety of Senior Management and Company Director roles for Train Operations and Rail Infrastructure organisations.
He set up his own consultancy company called D P Fox Consultants Ltd in 2009 where he specialised in focusing on Project work around new build railways, Bid work and mobilisation, disruption & Control Centre management, Customer service & Communications and other aspects of Operations and Customer Services.
Some of his major achievements have been:
Delivering overall service performance of 99% on the Docklands Light Railway network during the London 2012 Olympics, whilst carrying 12 million passengers.
Being part of Executive team at Serco Docklands winning ‘Light Rail’ Operator of the Year 2012 and ‘Rail Business of the Year’ whilst First Transpennine Express at the HSBC Rail Awards 2006. Involved in the franchise bidding for Go Ahead, Stagecoach and First Group, including implementation and delivery.
Danny joined Transport for London in April 2013 in his current role as Deputy Director of Operations where he is now responsible for the Operational aspects of mobilising the Crossrail Infrastructure for operation of the central operating section. Overseeing delivery of the Control Centre at Romford, Signalling operations, rules and regulations, recruitment, training and mobilisation of staff. Stakeholder engagement across the industry including Network Rail, MTR Crossrail and Heathrow. Where he is focused on successful delivery and project completion.
